Textbook Procedures--General

 

  1. Textbooks will be issued to students on the first day of school.

 

  1. The state requires damages and loss of textbooks to be paid by the student.  The subject teacher is responsible for assessing and collecting these monies.  Books will be checked at the end of each nine weeks period.

 

  1. Some textbooks will be taken at the end of first semester and some at the end of the second semester.  However, fees for lost and damaged books are to be paid as soon as possible regardless of when the books are collected.  No additional textbooks will be issued until the initially issued textbook has been paid for or turned in.

 

  1. Students who exempt exams should turn in their books to the teacher prior to leaving.  Do not take any books from students before the exam.  You may take books early if the student exempts and does not have to take the exam.

 

  1. Faculty members are cautioned that many students plan to use their last two days of absences just before exams. This means that books must be collected early.

 

  1. Arrangements will be made to collect senior books.  See Mr. Wright.

 

  1. Any books or materials of any kind that are the property of the teacher should be taken on the last of school.

 

  1. All current textbooks, including the teacher-borrowed or teacher-issued textbooks, should be in the bookroom by May22.  This includes student copies that you may have at home or in a bookcase in your classroom.

 

  1. Any teacher using a student textbook as a teacher issued textbook should clearly label it with an insert or indication saying, “Teacher Copy”.
