Deficiency
Notices
- Teachers/sponsors/coaches/etc.
should make every effort to collect monies owed by students, especially
for fundraising efforts. Teachers/sponsors
are responsible for collecting the monies owed.
- When a student owes a debt or
obligation, the teacher must issue a deficiency notice showing the dollar
amount and send a copy to the parent as soon as possible. The entire form is to be completed and
signed by the teacher.
- The issuing teacher will
retain a copy of the deficiency notice. The original should be sent to the
business office after all efforts at collection have been failed, not in a
last minute rush at the year’s end.
- Deficiency notices should be
issued for any debt or obligation and be submitted no later than the date
that grades are due. There will be
additional dates for seniors and end-of-year processing.
- Students who leave without
paying debts will have the notice attached to the permanent record. Transcripts or any other actions using
the permanent record may not be conducted until the debt is cleared.
- Deficiency notices are due at
least two days before senior clearance day on the closing schedule. Diplomas will be held for seniors with
outstanding deficiencies.
- Underclassmen with
deficiencies will not be allowed to register for the next school year
until the account is cleared.
