EVALUATION OVERVIEW
The following is the program design for Spartanburg County School District Two to use in evaluation for induction, provisional, annual, and continuing contract teachers. Used is the Assisting, Developing, and Evaluation of Professional Teachers (ADEPT) model designed by the State Department of Education.
The first-year teacher induction program will provide meaningful training and support for beginning teachers with a support system including a mentor. The annual and provisional contract teacher will go through an extensive evaluation process that uses the Team-based Evaluation and Assistance Model (TEAM) concept with a component for remediation and assistance. Continuing contract teachers will use a Goals-Based Evaluation (GBE) or upon principal recommendation, the complete TEAM evaluation. The Goals-Based Evaluation for continuing contract teachers will empower them to effect their own professional development with collaboration from the principal.
