Goals Based Evaluation Procedures

 

 

I.        Continuing Contract Teachers

 

A.     A continuing contract teacher is defined as follows:

 

 A teacher who has successfully completed an annual contract may be employed as a continuing contract teacher.  Teachers with continuing contracts must be evaluated once every three years.   

 

  1. Beginning in 1998-99, the evaluation model used for Continuing Contract teachers shall be Goals Based Evaluation (GBE or TEAM).

 

II.                 Required Components of Goals Based Evaluation

 

A.      The Goals Based Evaluation (GBE) Model is designed for experienced teachers.

B.       The teacher and principal will engage in a goal setting conference to improve instruction, achievement and school climate.  All goals shall be consistent with the School Renewal Plan.  The purpose of this conference is to strengthen the teacher/principal relationship and to foster the understanding and professional respect, which is valued by principals and teachers in Spartanburg School District Two.

C.      Goals and objectives with supporting strategies shall be written and shall become the first part of the teacher’s portfolio. (See Item H)
